Some insignificant and musically irrelevant milestones shook the music public and important music eventsa are nowhere to be mentioned. Like "Kelly Clarkson breaks record for the biggest jump to number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 when her single "My Life Would Suck Without You" soars from number 97 to number one fueled by 280,000 digital downloads on the first week of release. (The previous record was set by Britney Spears' "Womanizer" which went from number 96 to number one in 2008.)"
Apart from that Lady GaGa's debut single "Just Dance" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after 22 weeks - the second longest climb to number one, since Creed "With Arms Wide Open" in November 2000 (27 weeks) and Madonna announces that she will extend her record-breaking Sticky & Sweet Tour during summer of 2009, to visit cities that were excluded during the first run. The tour will kick-off in The O2, London on July 4. The extension will take Sticky & Sweet Tour to a total of over 80 shows, putting it among the top five tours of all time.
February
Well Ferbruary has been more significant in the music industry mainly marked for the Grammy Awards.
At the 51st Grammy Awards in Staples Center, Los Angeles Alison Krauss and Robert Plant win five Grammys for their duet album Raising Sand which also won Album of the Year Lil Wayne wins four awards, including Best Rap Album for Tha Carter III (the only album to sell one million copies in the first week of release in United States in 2008). Blink-182 announce that they are to reunite for a tour and new album. And my favorite music scandal of course is Rihanna postponingher Malaysian concert in The Good Girl Gone Bad Tour amid reports that she accused her boyfriend R&B star Chris Brown of assault. Another event is "Crack a Bottle", performed by Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, sets a new record for opening week download sales in the United States, at 418,000 copies. The previous record (335,000) was set by "Live Your Life". And what needs to be mentioned is that february had something for everybody. AFI Discreetly announce the new album title to be Crash Love Duffy dominates the Brit Awards, held in Earl's Court, London. Her album, Rockferry, the U.K top seller in 2008, won best British album, and she also won best British female and British breakthrough Kings of Leon (best international group) also win best international album for Only By The Night. Katy Perry wins best international female trophy. Flo Rida breaks his own record when his single "Right Round" is downloaded 636,000 units in the opening week. His 2008 chart-topper "Low" set the previous record for most downloaded song with 467,000 units sold on the first week of release.
March
As for March, the rapper T.I. was sentenced to a one year and one day prison sentence and is more a news than U2's new album release which i personally dislike....a lot.
What was musically inspiring to me so far you can check out below.....
We’ve all been witnesses of the international charade called Eurosong through the years. Americans call it Eurotrash, and not by chance, but who are they to speak? Really? No offense.
I have never been a fan and what is more I am strongly against low quality 1990 ‘German’ techno music and ‘love will survive’, ‘hold me tight’ and similar 2-word lyrics. I know that many people will agree with me on this and I also know that people live to watch Eurovision every year, something I’ll never understand. Since it has survived for many years and is becoming more and more popular, I guess there is something more to it than just bad songs. My guess is that it is the spirit, the diversity of 34-40 countries all in one evening and one place which is rarely seen anywhere else. I did not start this to say how bad Eurovision is…but I got carried away. My favorites are always the Turks, even though I rarely watch, and this year was no exception. I am adding Mor ve ötesi – Deli to my playlist. Are you?
Before I begin with the Chrstmas Punk Rock collection I'm sure going to let you enjoy (twice) the Christmas song which I do not only consider to be most excellent but also bursting with memories. It is a song you never get tired of....I havnen't heard it for quite a while.....

"In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer" - Albert Camus
Although it is the beginning of December, Christmas songs are only days away. So, before the Charisma's frenzy begins would like you all to take the time and enjoy some "winter songs", those which really reflect the weather outside our windows(depends on the part of the world you live in). I don't know about you but I surely love to embrace this melancholy atmosphere, put together a winter play list and eat chocolate, lots of chocolate. Here are few songs which made this year's winter play list.
As American leaders in the international dance music arena, Grammy-Award winners Deep Dish have become one of the most revered names in the genre. Their plate is filled with a long-awaited new artist album on deck for release; 100-plus DJ gigs a year from Los Angeles to Lebanon; high-profile remixes for such artists as Madonna, P Diddy, Dido and Justin Timberlake, just to name a few; a flourishing business in D.C. consisting of three record labels (Yoshitoshi Recordings, Shinichi Records, YO!) and a DJ agency, Bullitt Bookings
Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia--one half of the Grammy Award winning and four-time nominated electronic music duo Deep Dish--has joined forces with Global Underground for the April 10 release of his first solo mix album Dubfire GU31 - Taipei. The 2-CD mix set is a sweeping change from anything you would have previously expected to hear from the Deep Dish member and it features the finest in house, electro, techno, and even industrial music.
Sharam Tayebi mans the turntables as one half of the Grammy award winning DJ/production duo Deep Dish. Characterized by a harder style than his partner Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia, Sharam performs as Deep Dish featuring Sharam, when he takes to the road to deliver his signature half of the distinct Deep Dish sound.
In 2006 Sharam released GU29 - Dubai. The compilation was called "a double header CD that kicks the dust outta the dance with its skywards soars, desert storming dirtiness and seductive sensuality.." by DJMAG and it was also said that "Dubai" makes you wish you were in the club enjoying it live. But even at home it's an intoxicating experience, building from the Jazzy dub of DYAD 10's "Sugar Sweet Thing", to the relentless house of "Manitou" near the end of the second disc" In 2006 Sharam also released P.A.T.T.(Party All The Time). The most talked about and sought after record of 2006 Winter Music Conference in Miami that went on to become one of the stand out records of 2006's Ibiza session, Sharam's 'PATT' (Party All The Time)' made an apt arrival during the height of the Xmas season on Data, which is finished 2006 on a high with another club smash after its recent hits including Supermode's 'Tell Me Why' and Fedde Le Grand's 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit'.
Here are some of their videos. Sharam Party all the time
Zach Condon, the young man behind Beirut, after dropping out of college (on the first day, he walked straight to the office and asked for his money back) stayed with a cousin for a while in Amsterdam in a building where "a weird Serbian artist guy" blasted Balkan brass music from his top-floor apartment, driving his neighbors batty -- and providing the spark for what would become Beirut's "Gulag Orkestrar." (Released on Ba Da Bing!)
The upstairs neighbor "was miserable and he was really homesick and he was playing this really homesick music," The rest is history
It's been long since I've stumbled upon something worth watching and posting. Émilie Simon is a multidisciplinary artist; writing, composing and singing in all of her albums. Maybe her name does not ring a bell but the fact that she composed the original soundtrack for Luc Jacquet's documentary film La Marche de l'empereur (March of the Penguins) for which she got the award Best Original Soundtrack at the Césars in 2006, certainly will. What is more, she even toured with Placebo, doing the first part of their tour from 29th of September 2006 until the 4th December 2006. I will take pleasure in this new discovery of mine for days to come :) Hope you will, too.
1965. While "Stranger in Paradise" played, Tony Bennett was having a walk along The Serpentine in Hyde Park in London. If all of this had not been filmed and played by UK and US television stations, Tony wouldn’t have claimed he made the first music video. Only then, music videos were called promos and had the purpose to simply promote. The early age of music videos dates back to the beginning of the last century when "visual music" appeared - the animated films of Oskar Fischinger supplied with orchestral scores. The pioneering full-color music video for The Exciters' "Tell Him" from 1962 greatly influenced all that came afterwards. The defining work in the development of the modern music video was The Beatles' first major motion picture, A Hard Day's Night in 1964, directed by Richard Lester. The musical segments in this film arguably set out the basic visual vocabulary of today's music videos, influencing a vast number of contemporary musicians, and countless subsequent pop and rock group music videos. Also in 1966 the clip of Bob Dylan performing "Subterranean Homesick Blues" filmed by D A Pennebaker was much used.. Other pioneering music videos made during this time include the promotional films made by The Doors. When released in 1968, the animated film Yellow Submarine was an international sensation. Soon it was commonplace for artists to make promotional films, and bands like The Byrds and The Beach Boys were also making promotional films. The promotional clip continued to grow in importance, with television programs such as The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert mixing concert footage with clips incorporating camera tricks, special effects, and dramatizations of song lyrics. Other important contributions to the development of the genre include the film of the Woodstock Festival, and the various concert films that were made during the early Seventies, most notably Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs And Englishmen and particularly Pink Floyd's groundbreaking Live at Pompeii concert film, which featured sophisticated rhythmic cross-cutting. Also during this time,David Bowie released his video for Space Oddity. Although these "film clips" were often aired on pop music TV shows, they were still considered as secondary at that time, with live or mimed performances generally given precedence.
I will now take you back to the beginnings of the modern videos, to The Fabulous 60’s.

"Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" has been covered by many artists, and is better known to most people by the version performed by The Animals, who turned it into a rock song. This version was ranked by Rolling Stone at #315 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
The Mamas And Papas - California Dreamin "California Dreamin'" is a song by The Mamas & the Papas, first released in 1965. At the time, the Phillipses were members of the folk group The New Journeymen which evolved into The Mamas and the Papas.
Sonny & Cher- I Got You Babe Sonny Bono, a songwriter and record producer for Phil Spector, wrote the song for himself and his wife, Cher, late at night in their basement. Noted session drummer Hal Blaine performed the drums for the song. Bono was inspired to write the song to capitalize on the popularity of the term "babe," as heard in Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" which was a hit for The Turtles.

Timo Maas has always been one to attain perfection in his music. It's no surprise to see that whatever he works on - his own productions, his remixes, his DJ sets and his Four: Twenty Recordings label - his love of music always motivates him to push himself and push the boundaries of expectation to deliver greater and more challenging material on every attempt.
His "To Get Down" track was used on the sound track to the 2003 remake of The Italian Job (2003 film)....and here it is
Drummer Nathan Followill told NME.COM: "Man, we're sitting on a bunch of songs right now that we wish we could let the world hear!" and they did. Kings of Leon's third album entitled Because of Times, was released onApril2, 2007 in the UK, and a day later in the US. It entered the charts at #25 in the US and débuted at #1 in the UK. The release of 'Because of the Times' was preceded by the single "On Call" and here it is.
Due to the great appreciationI have for this band, and especially for this new album, I present you the video for the I Still Remember song, and believe me I have every intend to do the same with the rest of the videos that will come out, no matter how good they are.In my opinion, this is the only song on this album that has the political replaced with the personal and I can only say that it is okay, though the lyrics are very strong. As far as the video is concerned - see for yourselfJ. It is by the directorial duo Aggressive, a.k.a. Dan Shapiro and Alex Topaller, who also directed Black Label Society's "Concrete Jungle" (Roadrunner Records), Hoobastank's "Born to Lead" (Island/Def Jam Records), and Lil Rob’s "Summer Nights" (Upstairs Records).
Deep grooving house music with wonderful vocals and delayed synth stabs and pads slowly building in and out. For real pleasure play the Dennis Ferrer remix, head down, eyes closed and feel the music.
Considering NickCave the ultimate songwriter and his music a divine agony, little space is left for hesitation when it comes to his work particularly his new-fangled venture entitled Grinderman. Like NickCave, the other members are also from The Bad Seeds, Jim Sclavunos, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and they have released their debut in March 2007 for Mute. The following and opening video is for the song “No Pussy Blues” and it exploits the subject of reproduction among animals as well as humans. Most music televisions will probably ban this video since it shows snakes rabbits, insects…..all in action. "No Pussy Blues"
The Shins new video for the song "Phantom Limb" is directed by Patrick Daughters and features a controversial school play. The song is from their new album "Wincing The Night Away" released on January 23rd 2007.Mercer, the band's singer, songwriter and guitarist, has been shaken up by the demands of their growth and success. While the indie rock world were celebrating his existence, he was going through hell. During that time Mercer began writing, "Wincing The Night Away," a more diverse amalgam of sounds than the band's previous lo-fi releases, with lyrics indicating a desire to be set free. "Phantom Limb"
After collecting all the rewards for the creative idea behind the "Here It Goes Again" video, even the YouTube best video award they launch their latest video which makes the previous look not-So-creative :) Anyway, the new OK Go video debuted on February the 15th and is pretty awesome. I think it doesn't go better than this, in fact, I would really like to see where their creative genius will take them...next time. "Do What You Want"
Tankian and Malakian formed the band SOD and in the summer of 1998, System of a Down released their debut album,System of a Down. They enjoyed moderate success with their first single "Sugar becoming a radio favorite, followed by the singles "Spiders" and "War?". The group's big break arrived when their second album Toxicity debuted in America in 2001. After that followed Steal This Album in 2002, the double album Mezmerize/Hypnotize in 2004/2005. System of a Down has been labeled as "nu metal" by some fans and media since their incarnation I personally do not like labels and like to call their music simply awesome. "Aerials" from Toxicity
Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin (aka DJ Adam 12) make the Los Angeles duo She Wants Revenge and after opening for such acts as The Raveonettes, Moving Units, The Kills, Bloc Party, and OK Go they may actually win the audience and make a name for themselves instead of being called copycats for their group's one-note impression of dark new wave acts like Joy Division, The Cure and Bauhaus. Anyway, I enjoyed this song and what is more important Ilove this video and I hope you will, too.
Placebo have recently released an exclusive iTunes only download album of covers, entitled: ‘Covers’ due to the huge digital download demand for their cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’. Enjoy This Picture from Sleeping with Ghosts (2003)
